Champ of Champ 1-5 Year Singles – Mens and Womens Results 21st May 2022
In the Women’s Competition today, Kathy Stevens from Manly had a dream draw in the top half of the draw after receiving a Bye through to the Quarter Final’s and then with the late withdrawal of Millie Nathan from Birkenhead (one of the tournament favourites) she marched into the Semi Finals by default. However Kathy had a nail biting win 21-20 over Sky Renes from Takapuna to reach the final tomorrow. In the Final Kathy will face Hanaan Shahwan from Hobsonville who after a close 1st up game made light work of her opponents in the Quarter and Semi Finals.
In the Men’s Competition the bottom of the Draw attracted 5 Current North Harbour Reps, with Andy Dorrance defeating Chad Nathan, however his tournament was ended by close friend Shaun Goldsbury (who is a talent to watch in the near future). Shaun carried on his winning ways beating the gallant Mike Jackson from Omaha Beach in the Semi Final. Mike Jackson made a huge impression in the Mens COC Singles only losing by a single shot to progress to the Semi Finals. In the Top half of the draw it was another Hobsonville Representative Darren Morrow to progress comfortably to the final tomorrow.
I am sure there will be a strong contingent from the Hobsonville Club cheering on their 2 finalists at Orewa under the Covered Green at 9.00am. Good luck to all finalists tomorrow!
