Remembering Bob Telfer

It is with deep respect that we remember Bob Telfer, who has recently passed away at the age of 74 following a short battle with cancer.

Bob was well known across the North Harbour bowls community both as a keen competitor—particularly at Takapuna Bowling Club—and as a dedicated coach.

After being appointed as Coach/Selector of the Bowls North Harbour Women’s Premier Representative Team, Bob brought passion, insight, and commitment to the role. During his tenure he worked tirelessly to develop and support the Centre’s top women bowlers, contributing to their competitive preparedness, team culture, and representative success on the inter-centre stage.

Bob’s contributions extended beyond coaching; he was a respected mentor and advocate for the sport, always encouraging players to strive for their best while fostering a positive and inclusive environment. His loss is deeply felt across the North Harbour bowls community.
