Champ of Champ Pairs Results – Men’s and Women’s Finalists Found
After being called up as a late replacement for Shaun Bayne, Greg Taylor paired up with David Pierce from Northcote and they had to fight hard in their Semi Final to beat a gallant Milford Combination of Charlie McDonald and Robbie McGrane prevailing 16-15 to make tomorrow’s Final to be played at Bowls Orewa on the Covered Green at 9.00am. Hot off winning the COC Singles last week, Bart Robertson will be looking to make it 2 from 2 tomorrow where he teams up with Kylie Clark from Helensville. They also had a very tough Semi Final win over Birkenhead’s Jack Huriwai and Jimmy (Jandals) Heath 19-16.
In the Women’s Final tomorrow (also starting at 9.00am) Trish Croot and Kirsty Hill from Birkenhead will square off against Theresa Rogers and Sheryl Wellington from Mairangi Bay. Croot and Hill had an epic Semi Final win over last week’s COC Singles Runner-Up Wendy Jensen and Robyne Walker from Takapuna in a very low scoring game, eventually winning 12-8. In the other Semi Final Rogers and Wellington had a more comfortable win over a very strong combination of last weeks COC Singles Champion Elaine McClintock and Kerin Roberts from Orewa 19-8.
