Representative Team Director Announcement – John Walker

Bowls North Harbour is pleased to announce the appointment of John Walker as the new Representative Team Director, effective immediately.

John brings with him extensive experience in lawn bowls at both club and centre level, along with a strong track record of leadership and high-performance team development. His appointment signals a renewed focus on building competitive representative squads, fostering a strong team culture, and achieving consistent success across all levels of the representative programme.

In his new role, John will oversee the coordination and planning of Bowls North Harbour’s representative teams, working closely with coaches, managers, and Centre staff. His priority will be on preparing our squads to perform at their highest level at inter-centre events and regional challenges throughout the season. While team selection will remain the responsibility of appointed selectors, John will provide vital leadership to ensure team structures, preparation, and performance align with Bowls North Harbour’s strategic goals.

BNH Board Chairperson, Tony Popplewell, welcomed the appointment, saying,
