Selina Goddard – Three Times a Champion

  • March 31, 2025

One of Bowls North Harbour’s most illustrious bowlers of the past decade, Black Jack and multiple national champion Selina Goddard, has achieved many remarkable feats in her relatively short bowling career. But arguably none of these exploits has quite matched her coup at the weekend in winning three titles at the lucrative Victoria Open in Australia. It is almost without precedent for one player to make a clean sweep of three events in such a major event

Selina’s triple came in the singles, the pairs with an Australian partner Cassandra McKerick and the triples with Melanie Allen and Kelly McKerihen.

Her wins were all by comfortable margins and for her efforts she pocketed a sum of money well into five figures, with $6000 coming her way in the singles alone.

Graham Dorreen has been Selina’s coach for the best part of seven years and has arranged what he terms a “great sponsorship” with Harcourts Cooper and other entities which has enabled Selina to campaign with such success in Australia. Her aim has been to spend as much time in Australia as possible over the next 18 months.

As well as her triple success in Victoria Selina has recently won the state pennants title with her Sydney club, Cabramatta and has made a singles final there. She has also worked for a number of Australian clubs in digital marketing.
