Bowls North Harbour – Pennant 16th October 2026

The weather played its part today with mixed conditions, sunshine, rain and cool a breeze.

The opening matches were marked by strong starts from several sides who wasted no time asserting themselves. Some teams came out firing with confident draw play and disciplined heads, while others took a few ends to settle before finding their stride. As is typical of Pennants, momentum swung sharply at times, with a number of games decided in the final few ends.

Early highlights included:

  • Consistent draw bowling from several skips who set the tone for their teams.
  • Impressive recovery ends, where sides turned difficult heads into scoring opportunities.
  • New combinations showing promising chemistry right from the first round.

Club Contributions

Bowls North Harbour offers its heartfelt appreciation to all host clubs for presenting their greens in outstanding condition and for the warm hospitality shown throughout the day. Our volunteers were, once again, the backbone of the event — from early‑morning setup to scorekeeping, kitchen duties, and overall coordination. Their dedication ensured everything ran seamlessly, allowing players to stay fully focused on their bowls.

With Day One complete, the Pennants table begins to take shape, but nothing is settled. Several teams have signalled strong intent, while others will be eager to bounce back in the next round. If today’s standard is any indication, we’re in for a competitive and entertaining Pennant season.
